Easter Egg Topiary

Guess what…

This post wasn’t inspired by Pinterest. I used my own brain. I can’t believe it ;)

Here is the Topiary I created for $22.00:

Here are the items I used:

  • Eggs on a wooden stick (Dollar Tree. I got 6 bags containing 10 small eggs and 8 bags containing 5 medium eggs)
  • Pot (Dollar Tree)
  • Foam insert for pot (Dollar Tree)
  • Easter grass (Dollar Tree)
  • 5″ styrofoam ball (Michael’s $4.99)
  • Dowel (Michael’s $.99)
  • Ribbon (Already have but I did purchase that pretty plaid ribbon at Costco)
  • Hot glue

If I were to do this all over again I would either paint the styrofoam ball pink or add tulle here and there with hot glue. In the picture you can see the styrofoam but in person it really isn’t that bad. Place the foam insert into the pot. Place dowel in the foam insert, take back out and add hot glue in the hole you just made. Place dowel back in and hold until glue sets. Place the styrofoam ball (if you paint yours paint it first) at the top of the dowel. Start inserting the eggs into the ball. I cut mine down to about 3″ or so. They were pretty long sticks. I tried to form a pattern and ran out of small eggs so I finished the topiary with all the larger eggs on the bottom. Wrap the dowel in ribbon using hot glue to secure in place. Place easter grass in the pot. Tie a bow and you are done! This project took me no time at all. Now go and glitterize your world ;)
