If you have been anywhere lately you will notice that stencils are ALL THE RAGE right now. I have 3 things I want to stencil and before I attempt them I wanted to practice first. I will get to my first practice run with stencils in just a moment. I eventually want to stencil my craft room (aka Debbie Does Creations Headquarters), an accent wall in the master bedroom and believe it or not, I want to stencil my dining room curtains. But like I said, I need practice first!
Don’t know what all the fuss is about stencils? Then let me show you. Then I will show you what I did with my storage boxes.
Ginger from GingerSnap Crafts WOW’d me when she stenciled her curtains. Take a looksy:

Just think of all the possibilities you can do with stencils! Now let me show you my storage boxes I did for the craft room. Remember, I am practicing for the big projects.
I got my storage boxes on sale at Michael’s for $2 each and then used a coupon. Score! I also purchased my stenciling supplies in the Martha Stewart section.
I couldn’t decide what design I liked best so I did each box with a different design. Let’s take a look:
What design do you like best? I really want your opinion because what design YOU like, my readers, is going into my craft room. I, for some reason, like #3. I didn’t like it until I saw it put on. For some reason it resonates with me. I also like #2 and #4. I certainly do not like #1. It was also the first box I did.
So what do you think, impressed with what stencils can do?

If you were doing a wall, I would say that I liked #2 on a repeat. But, I’m like you…I like #3. In our dining room, without a stencil…Michael, my husband, did diamonds all above the chair rail…I love the look of it…people often mistake it for wallpaper
Can’t wait to see more pix!

For a wall, I agree with you, a repeating pattern
I agree that I like #3 the best on the boxes. I have to give you credit, your stenciling came out really crisp. Whenever it try it bleeds under the stencil and looks icky. What’s your secret?
I just held it there with my fingers and dabbed it on. No secret. What kind of stencil do you use?
Very cute! I like number four!

Me too for an allover.
I love number three on the boxes, happy and fun. Makes me want to open it and get to crafting:)

No if I can just figure our what I want to put in these
So cool, Debbie! I love that you jazzed up the storage boxes! I’d love to do that and coordinate the colors to match my craft shelf!!! And the stenciled wall and ceiling is just awesome. I’m getting some ideas together for fall painting on the house. If I could just find some awesome fleur di lis stencils, I’ll be set

The Cameo cuts small plastic. I could always make you a custom stencil with the fleur di lis. Just a thought
Number one is okay but maybe better without the part in the middle! Love the yellow by the way!
